Having said that, I recognize the appeal of Modular Buildings to other AFOLs and am certainly not going to slam them as all-around poor value they just aren't for me. Gotta say, I've been looking forward to seeing this since it was announced as a winning Ideas set. Im still suffering from brittle brown phobia. If I squint here, it looks like a pile of bricks :) It's weird. If I squint it looks real. Yes I want it. Looking at this it's unmistakably a massive model. Ooh, nice! I prefer the stairs and roof colors in the original, but like the overall vibe more in this version. It looks great. I think the reason for the callout here is due to how many foliage parts are used and how prominent and thematically important to the set they are (which may also be the reason they opted for two full sets of leaves, one for summer and one for autumn). Not to mention the piece count increase from having two different color options for the foliage!Considering how many equally bewildered comments about piece count there were for other unmistakably massive and highly detailed sets like the T-Rex Rampage and Corner Garage, I'm thinking that a lot of people either struggle to gauge size of a model from pictures online, or just aren't aware of how easily even basic structural reinforcements like increasing floors or ceilings from one plate in thickness to two can drive up a model's piece count. @Lyichir Thanks for the reply, but I should have phrased my question better. Are you looking forward to 21318 Tree House? !I would say the original Ideas submission does look amazing, beautiful even (but quite different) and probably does more with less bricks, but I guess it also looks a bit more fragile than the production set at the same time. I'd absolutely love to look at a complete set, though. I don't know if I can swing $200, but if I ever come across spare money, I may have to pick this up.I think it looks well done. Well, the "house" part is very nice, IMO it strikes pretty much the right balance between muted brown main colors and bright highlights - not to mention a convenient bathroom with all-wood plumbing (although I'm not sure if that botanical toilet paper does the job). The set looks nice but I won't be putting it on my list.It's large and large sets need to really wow me to justify the price for a single concept. The tree trunk looks way more realistic, the colors are more aesthetically pleasing, and the tree houses are much more cohesively designed and similar to what ACTUAL tree houses look like, not something an Ewok would live in.But you keep being you and bashing sets without any valid criticism whatsoever.
