Since the LEGO Group launched its first bricks made of plant-based polyethylene last year, the sustainable bricks have increasingly been included in new LEGO sets. ; 562 people have joined this week. ; 8169 members have logged in in the last 24 hours, 17140 in the last 7 days, 28676 in the last month. It's definitely more realistic, but also much darker and (slightly) less inviting. Also, what are you referring to when you say Lego has been doing a bad job with Ideas recently? Having said that, I recognize the appeal of Modular Buildings to other AFOLs and am certainly not going to slam them as all-around poor value they just aren't for me. Gotta say, I've been looking forward to seeing this since it was announced as a winning Ideas set. Im still suffering from brittle brown phobia. If I squint here, it looks like a pile of bricks :) It's weird. If I squint it looks real. Yes I want it. Looking at this it's unmistakably a massive model. Ooh, nice! I prefer the stairs and roof colors in the original, but like the overall vibe more in this version. It looks great. I think the reason for the callout here is due to how many foliage parts are used and how prominent and thematically important to the set they are (which may also be the reason they opted for two full sets of leaves, one for summer and one for autumn). Not to mention the piece count increase from having two different color options for the foliage!Considering how many equally bewildered comments about piece count there were for other unmistakably massive and highly detailed sets like the T-Rex Rampage and Corner Garage, I'm thinking that a lot of people either struggle to gauge size of a model from pictures online, or just aren't aware of how easily even basic structural reinforcements like increasing floors or ceilings from one plate in thickness to two can drive up a model's piece count. @Lyichir Thanks for the reply, but I should have phrased my question better. I shall stop by on opening day and let you know if I spot anything unusual ;). If you have LEGO news, new images or something else to tell us about, send us a message. I was really excited about this set and now that I see what they've done with it, its OK. Are you looking forward to 21318 Tree House? !I would say the original Ideas submission does look amazing, beautiful even (but quite different) and probably does more with less bricks, but I guess it also looks a bit more fragile than the production set at the same time. I'd absolutely love to look at a complete set, though. I don't know if I can swing $200, but if I ever come across spare money, I may have to pick this up.I think it looks well done. Win-win-scenario ;-)Interesting though imho that the original submission - looked quite a bit larger- was much more detailed- appeared to use far more sophisticated building techniquesyet still used about 400 to 500 less pieces than the final product. Will also depend heavily on the price in Europe. | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database That is way below my current average of $0.14/brick. Admittedly, this set is not cheap. It looks very brown :) Nice enough from first view, but I guess I'll wait for more photos and your review. ; Brickset members have written 35991 set reviews. Well, the "house" part is very nice, IMO it strikes pretty much the right balance between muted brown main colors and bright highlights - not to mention a convenient bathroom with all-wood plumbing (although I'm not sure if that botanical toilet paper does the job). Tree House box contents. Like with the Jurassic Park set that just came out, some people wanted just the T. rex, some wanted just the gate, and others were excited to have both but had no interest in the minifigs or the vignettes on the back of the gate.As a personal example, I have no interest in Modular Buildings because they're too proportionally large for the small space I have for my LEGO town, they have more interior detail going on than I actually need, and they use too many and too varied pieces for building techniques I'm not always interested in. very nice but absolutely out of my price range, unfortunately, And now the VIP points question: is it better to buy the set in the US or in Europe ;-). ; 368 people have joined this week. Clubhouse is over 5 high, 7 wide, and 5 deep. And Im sure the ideas submission failed many of Legos standards in terms of stability, playability, construction, etc. I wouldnt pay $100 for this 3000 piece ugly looking thing. Let us know in the comments. Complete absence of foliage below the house) replaced by play element (eg. My first thoughts were more like how a nice, large tree would look if you cut off 90% of its crown (leaving it with just enough branches to survive), and then waiting a few years for it to grow somewhat back. It would be like Ideas accepting a building from the late 1880s, but the final release, while keeping the same colors and height, went with a modern aesthetic instead. I like this version compared to the original submission. The cabins though just don't look nearly as architectural in this version. LEGO Creator building toys are compatible with all LEGO construction sets for creative building Treehouse is over 6 high, 10 wide, and 5 deep. Huh. Talk to our friendly LEGO experts online. 21318 Tree House revealed in LEGOLAND Discovery Centre! At least, I hope that would be the case. Head. Tree Fort is over 7 high, 7 wide, and 5 deep 387 pieces For boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 years old As for my thoughts on this treehouse, it looks majestic and pays decent tribute to the original design while still maintaining that distinct LEGO Group aesthetic that sadly doesn't jive well with some other fans. Probably has lots of interesting features and build techniques. Its gorgeous, but the price? Please log in to post comments on this article. Inventory for 21318-1: Tree House. Looks atrocious compared to the original. Ooh, the autumn foliage option is a nice touch. The set looks nice but I won't be putting it on my list. It's large and large sets need to really wow me to justify the price for a single concept. The tree trunk looks way more realistic, the colors are more aesthetically pleasing, and the tree houses are much more cohesively designed and similar to what ACTUAL tree houses look like, not something an Ewok would live in.But you keep being you and bashing sets without any valid criticism whatsoever.
